Director of Asset Management

​

Blackfin Real Estate Investors is seeking a Director of Asset Management to oversee all asset management responsibilities for our growing multifamily investment portfolio ranging from Class A to affordable product. The Director will oversee the implementation of the investment strategy to create value through revenue optimization, operational efficiencies and value-add opportunities. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities:

​

  • ​Oversee performance of Blackfin’s multifamily investment portfolio.

  • Identify and implement strategic asset level initiatives.

  • Review monthly operating and leasing performance.

  • Conduct and utilize market research to maximize investment performance.

  • Oversee implementation of capital improvement plan and measure its return on investment.

  • Coordinate the development of Annual Business Plans, operating and capital budgets.

  • Oversee property management company performance and relationships.

  • Prepare financial analysis to track property level results in comparison to proforma utilizing reforecast model.

  • Play strategic role in dispositions, refinancings and recapitalizations.

  • Oversee all investor and lender reporting, covenant compliance and internal portfolio tracking.

  • Work closely with Investment team on underwriting assumptions, business plan and property manager selection and play active role on investment committee.

  • Oversee real estate tax appeals, insurance placement and utility initiatives.

  • Identify and oversee all asset management technology initiatives

 

Skills and Qualifications:

​

  • Minimum of five to seven years of in-depth experience underwriting and/or asset managing multifamily investments with demonstrated success at improving or sustaining asset performance.

  • Analytical problem-solving skills with capability to prepare detailed analyses and make well-reasoned, decisive recommendations.

  • Strong quantitative background and understanding of financial analysis concepts.

  • Strong Excel modeling skills and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.

  • Familiarity with all pertinent real estate transactional documents and processes such as purchase agreements, operating agreements, loan documents and property management agreements.

  • Willingness to travel.
