Financial Analyst - Asset Management

Overview:

Blackfin Real Estate Investors is seeking a Financial Analyst to support its Asset Management team. The Financial Analyst will assist with developing and implementing strategies to maximize the value and performance of each of the multifamily assets within Blackfin’s portfolio.

​

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze operating performance of each project compared to budget, proforma and the competitive set

  • Utilize reforecast model to compare actual performance to proforma and recommend any necessary strategy changes

  • Evaluate market conditions to include leasing velocity, rent growth, construction pipeline and deliveries, economic indicators and sales activity

  • Assess performance of capital expenditure plan

  • Quarterly portfolio reporting to include variance analysis, market overview and recapitalization/refinance/sell recommendations

  • Analytical support to senior members of the Asset Management and Investment teams

  • Provide due diligence/closing support during major capitalization events to include financings, recapitalizations, acquisitions and dispositions

  • Prepare loan covenant compliance calculations and ensures compliance with loan reporting requirements

  • Maintain insurance, real estate tax, utility and key date trackers

  • Inspect projects on a regular basis

  • Assist in implementing and managing Business Intelligence Tool

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of real estate experience with an exceptional academic record, superior quantitative skills and analytical abilities

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel spreadsheets

  • Strong quantitative skills and core financial competency and the ability to create financial models

  • Basic knowledge of financing and underwriting methodologies

  • Conscientious, self-directed and entrepreneurial with the ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively with teams

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communications skills
