Staff Accountant

​

Blackfin Real Estate Investors is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing team. Reporting directly to our Assistant Controller, the Staff Accountant will primarily assist with maintaining all facets of accounts payable, accounts receivable inclusive of general ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization.

Responsibilities:

​

  • Review and enter capital expenditure invoices based on construction subcontract and CapEx budget.

  • Review and enter corporate invoices and employee expense request based on corporate policy and budget.

  • Process and print vendor checks, wires, or EFTs in accordance with approved payment schedule.

  • Maintain vendor information such as W-9’s and Certificate of Insurance as a part of the AP process.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and maintain multiple vendor credit accounts.

  • Respond to vendor inquiries and communicate with vendors regarding invoice or statement discrepancies.

  • Manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and accounts receivables.

  • Produce weekly AP and AR report for Accounting Manager and PMs

  • Perform general ledger analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, and adjustments of reclassified journal entries.

  • Assist the Accounting Manager with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations.

  • Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned and required by management.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

​

  • Construction accounting experience preferred with a minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience 

  • Have thorough understanding of financial statements and the month-end closing process to include production of financial statements, WIP reconciliation, P&L review, and credit card analysis.

  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Suite

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in accounting or real estate related
