Project Accountant
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our growing team. This role will report directly to our Controller and work closely with the accounting and construction teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting, ledger maintenance, and financial analysis. The Project Accountant will play a critical role in managing multiple entities and providing key insights to support the success of our projects.
Job Duties:

Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate documentation of financial transactions for multiple entities

Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple entities

Prepare monthly construction draws and journal entries for multiple entities

Manage job cost reports and reconciliations on a monthly basis

Prepare quarterly distributions for all tiers

Perform partnership cash position analysis on a quarterly basis and assist with managing cash positions for partnership requests

Track and maintain monthly Asset Management fee and Construction Management fee

Collaborate with Project Managers to facilitate invoice approval and payment processes

Coordinate year-end audit requests and assist with tax return processes, including 1099s

Support year-end adjustments (AJE) and ensure smooth communication with the operations team

Review data to ensure that proper procedures are being followed

Perform other duties and assignments as required by management

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field (real estate or finance)

Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience; real estate or construction accounting preferred

Proficiency in GAAP and knowledge of financial reporting standards

Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel

Strong understanding of construction draws and project management accounting is a plus
