Asset Manager

Blackfin Real Estate Investors is seeking an Asset Manager to oversee its multifamily portfolio reporting to the Director of Asset Management. The Asset Manager will develop and implement strategies to maximize the value and performance of each multifamily asset within Blackfin’s portfolio and assist with investment opportunities. This position will work closely with our investment, construction and accounting teams, our property managers, investors and Blackfin Senior Management.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the investment strategy and business plan for each asset in assigned portfolio. 

  • Analyze leasing and operating performance compared to budget, proforma and the competitive set

  • Review and provide comments on annual budgets and prepare variance analysis.

  • Evaluate and maintain knowledge of marketing plan and market conditions to include leasing and sales activity.

  • Monitor and assess performance of capital expenditure plan

  • Prepare portfolio reporting to include variance analysis, market overview and recapitalization/refinance/sell recommendations

  • Prepare investor reporting and effectively communicate with partners.

  • Evaluate investment strategy and underwriting of potential investment opportunities

  • Participate during capitalization events to include financings, recapitalizations, acquisitions and dispositions

  • Prepare loan covenant compliance calculations and ensure compliance with loan reporting requirements

  • Inspect projects on a regular basis

 

Qualifications:

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree required, real estate related preferred

  • 3-5 years of real estate experience with an exceptional academic record, superior quantitative skills and analytical abilities

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel spreadsheets

  • Strong quantitative skills and core financial competency and the ability to create financial models

  • Basic knowledge of financing and underwriting methodologies

  • Experience across multifamily asset classes in multiple markets
